Montrose House

Montrose, Victoria

A002503

Nestled at the base of Mount Dandenong, this home is a study in calm generosity, designed as a place where hosting, retreat and daily life unfold with quiet ease across a single, grounded plane.

Set on a 1224 m² site with soft views to the mountain, the design arranges distinct wings around a central living space that opens fully to the landscape. The layout allows the home to expand and contract, accommodating visiting family and friends while maintaining moments of privacy and stillness.

Material restraint and careful proportion give the architecture its quiet confidence. Warm, natural finishes and a seamless flow between indoor and outdoor spaces invite slow living and shared connection. The result is a home defined by hospitality and harmony, grounded in place and designed to age gracefully with time.

We offer deep respect to the traditional custodians of this land and honour their ancestors who have nurtured and cared for this country for thousands of years. We pay homage to the living cultures, languages, and knowledge systems of the Noongar, Wurundjeri and all Indigenous Australian peoples.
