Our White Gum Valley project explores a quiet, contemporary response to suburban living, where warmth, privacy and natural light are brought together through a restrained palette of honest materials and simple architectural forms.

Designed in collaboration with Grotto Studio, the home is defined by a finely detailed timber screen that wraps the primary living spaces, creating a layered threshold between the street and the interior. This permeable facade filters light, softens the building's scale and provides privacy without compromising openness, allowing the home to engage with its surroundings in a calm and understated way.

Internally, generous volumes, natural timber, stone and muted finishes create a warm, tactile environment that celebrates materiality and craftsmanship. Carefully framed views and abundant daylight enhance the sense of connection between inside and out, while each space is considered for both everyday family life and quiet moments of retreat.

The result is a timeless home that balances simplicity with richness, demonstrating how thoughtful collaboration and carefully resolved detail can create architecture that feels both enduring and deeply connected to place.

We offer deep respect to the traditional custodians of this land and honour their ancestors who have nurtured and cared for this country for thousands of years. We pay homage to the living cultures, languages, and knowledge systems of the Noongar, Wurundjeri and all Indigenous Australian peoples.
