This Richmond single-fronted terrace began its story in the 1890s—a classic Victorian cottage that has witnessed generations of change. Our approach was a contemporary re-imagining designed not just to preserve the spirit of its origins, but to open the home up to its urban environment in an entirely new way.
The design challenges the traditional, closed-off terrace frontage. The new façade, characterized by striking dark vertical cladding and grounded textured blockwork, leans into interaction. The integrated concrete entry bench acts as a modern 'stoop,' offering a gesture of presence that invites engagement with Richmond’s lively character. It is an architecture that refuses to hide away, echoing the rhythm of past and present in one seamless breath.
