Fresh Fields in Carlisle brings together four neighbouring industrial tenancies into a cohesive, contemporary workplace environment. Archive Office was engaged to reimagine the entire fit-out, transforming a cluster of raw industrial shells into a unified precinct with a clear identity, improved functionality, and a refined material sensibility.
Working across the full interior scope, we developed a spatial strategy that enhances circulation between the tenancies while respecting the practical requirements of each operator. The design introduces a consistent architectural language robust, efficient, and grounded in the industrial character of Carlisle using a palette of concrete, powdercoated steel, plywood, and considered lighting to elevate everyday workspaces.
The project focuses on creating flexibility and longevity: open planning for evolving business needs, durable finishes suited to the industrial context, and joinery elements that bring warmth without compromising resilience. Externally, subtle facade interventions tie the four units together, reinforcing the sense of a single, orchestrated precinct rather than separate tenancies.
Fresh Fields demonstrates Archive Office’s ability to transform industrial spaces into purposeful, human-centred environments places built for productivity, comfort, and long-term commercial value.
