Blockley Way Renovation

Bassendean, Western Australia

A001911

Blockley Way is a considered addition of a family home in Bassendean, Perth, balancing established character with new spatial possibilities. The project extends the original footprint to introduce a refined second-story retreat, creating a dedicated master suite and study space that rises above the leafy suburban context.

The design centres on enhancing the home’s relationship with its generous garden setting while rationalising the existing ground floor for modern living. By integrating a clean, contemporary form atop the solid masonry base, the addition establishes a distinct yet harmonious dialogue between old and new. The renovation prioritizes natural light, material durability, and clear circulation, transforming the residence into a layered, functional home adaptable to growing family needs.
